We went on a Country Cruise with great entertainment but the food on the buffet was awful.
First of all, the ship was chartered by a travel agency so I do not know who is to blame for the quality of the food. The first day I thought it looked and tasted O.K. The 2nd to the 7th day you got served almost the same food in possibly the same bowl day after day and the older and dried out the food tasted and looked. On the 5th morning, I picked up a pancake and you could have used it for a Frisbee is was so hard and dry. It cracked when you bent it. Some stuff stayed identical day after day and other dishes were combined and remixed to look like a new dish. Once in a while, you did see a new dish being served. I have been on many Norwegian cruises and this is the ONLY one that the food was so bad. They did have a crepe station and that was delicious because it was made to order as you stood and waited. They did have ice cream once per day on the buffet line and there was fresh whole fruit but if the food was cut up, you got it over and over again. And, giving credit where credit is due, the dessert bar was decent and new desserts appeared regularly.
We deliberately chose an inside cabin because we stay up late listening to music and like it dark and quiet in the room and we had that. But, if you took our king size bed from our home and set it in that inside cabin, you would have had to crawl on it from the foot end of the bed. You could barely get your legs between the bed and the desk/cabinet to get to the side of the bed. I did not know it was possible to make an inside cabin so tiny. The bathroom, to my surprise was small but adequate. We made do with the small room but the bed left a lot to be desired. It felt like it was made of straw with wrinkles. Your body actually hurt when you got up in the morning---and many times at night.
We chose an inside cabin as we have done many times before on different cruises but this time it was inadequate.
Good driver and was very informative
