Vision was a smaller ship and easy to navigate. I prefer the Mega ships. That being said, it was quite a "busy" itinerary. We spent 2 1/2 days in Barcelona before sailing. For our shore excursions in Nice, Florence/Pisa, Rome and Amalfi Coast! We chose a private excursion company, having 6-12 people on their semi private tours over the 20-40 people on cruise ship shore excursions. Either way, there was very little time to enjoy the ship, except for cruising days. The ship's charge for Water TAXI in Venice was $28pp for one day and $50pp for 2 days. The public transportation, the water BUS, was $15 round trip and dropped you off at St Mark's Square. The taxi dropped you off 4 bridges away from the square.

Most of the shows were good. The food was ok. No surf (lobster) and turf dinner served on formal night as in the past, but escargot every night. Shrimp cocktail only on last half of the sailing. Desserts in Windjammer boring. Mousse was more gelatin than whipped and creamy.

Omelet station was awesome!

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Excellent location, great Steward. Plenty of storage space.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Booked Flamenco Dance, Momtserrat and Cava and 1/2 day Barcelona tour. They were wonderful, prompt and dropped us off at port when tour ended.

Nice

Safe driver, great narration and stops at highlights of the French Riviera

Florence (Livorno)

Driver took us through Tuscan olive groves, very cautious driver. Dropped us off for touring of Pisa and Florence. Guide in Florence was excellent. Pointed out a great Leather Market for shopping.

Florence (Livorno)

Loved watching people line up the perfect shot for "holding up" the tower. Beautiful structure.

Florence (Livorno)

Our guide was great. Got us right in with skip the line tickets. She described every detail on the sculpture and you expected to see David breathe. Absolutely awesome. A must see.

Positano (Amalfi)

Guide was the best ever. Very detailed descriptions in Pompeii. Very interesting and a must see. Amazing how much was recovered and how much more needs to be done.

Positano (Amalfi)

Scenic view of the coastline. Great driver. Dropped off in Sorrento for shopping and lunch.

Venice

Water TAXI offered by cruise ship was twice as much as Water BUS, which was the public transportation available and it dropped you off at St Mark's Square, not 4 bridges away. City is beautiful. St Marks was beautiful, as was Doges Palace. Shopping and food great!

Kotor

Our big mistake. Just drove around the Bay. That audio system was terrible. Wasted $20pp.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

This was the most awesome display of All the Roman structures. I could actually feel what went on centuries ago.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Beautiful doesn't do this artwork justice! Wish we had more time to stand in awe!
