Hawaii itself was great (as always), but the treatment of the passengers by the Carnival Miracle staff was UNACCEPTABLE. First of all, the long embarkation lines---outside in the heat---at the Long Beach (CA) terminal could easily have been avoided by better planning on the part of Carnival. But even worse,, the lines at the Kona (HI) dock (waiting for a tender for over an hour), showed total incompetence on the part of the Carnival staff. There were over 500 people in line at about 4 PM and NO TENDERS whatsoever. This is DISGRACEFUL. We finally had to call Carnival management while waiting in line to tell them to contact the ship and get some tenders to the dock. Lastly, the entertainment and on-board activities planned by the Cruise Director were, in a word, BLAH. Overall, I would give the Carnival staff a rating of D- .
