I began in Dover, and it was a great cruise in the beginning. The stop in the AZORES is wonderful !! Just before reaching Miami they announced engine problems, and skipped the Miami stop. Fine with me, as we were compensated for that. It was a big inconvenience for those who were to leave the ship in Miami though. After that, it was chaos! I spent a day in one line after another because the staff kept sending me to the wrong place.... they were so confused! We were given the option of money to change our plane reservation, or a room at the Marriott Hotel with a food allowance provided. I chose the hotel. Room was nice, but the hotel could not handle the sudden arrival of NCL guests in the restaurants. We ate ice cream and Coke for dinner when we could not get into the restaurant before it closed (as did many guests!). Free transportation to the airport was provided by NCL.

So..... back to the cruise itself-------- our cabin and cabin steward were excellent! The food.... La Cucina and Cagney's were excellent. Le Bistro was average. Teppanyaki was the worst specialty dining experience ever! (It is usually very good.) O'Sheehan's... great hot fish & chips served with very cold french fries. Versailles... poor service, and poor food. Entertainment was good and bad. Production shows were good, and "Oh, What a Night" was GREAT !!!! Thermal Suite was a disappointment.... no heated lounges like we were told. Not much there at all.... waste of money. Officers on this cruise were not helpful. Written and verbal requests and comments were not even acknowledged. I was really surprised, as all requests or comments on other NCL ships were handled with a phone call from someone... usually within hours!
