My husband and I recently took the 7-day Bermuda Cruise from Boston on Norwegian Dawn. It was our third cruise, all with Norwegian and our best. The ship was just the right size and our balcony room was more spacious than the balcony room on the Epic. We spent a few days before the cruise in Boston, a very friendly city, and absorbed as much history and Italian food and seafood as we could in our limited time. Visitors on board the ship were just as friendly and the staff was helpful. Entertainment was as good as on the bigger ship. One of our excursions was canceled due to weather so we went on the Behind the Scene Ship Tour. It was far more interesting than i had anticipated, especially the galley area. Oh, the food was above average. We never felt a desire or need to eat in one of the specialty restaurants.
The Horseshoe Bend Beach was beautiful and our Hidden Gems Excursion was fantastic. i can't believe I swam in a cave and jumped off a cliff. The captain of the Rising Sun found a sheltered cove for snorkeling when our Shipwreck Snorkeling Event was canceled due to rough seas. My only complaint is that some visitors who had received a phone call in their rooms didn't know that an alternative excursion would be offered and were disappointed when they found out what fun we had. Bermuda is beautiful and we want to go back, maybe on the same cruise in another year.
It was spacious and clean with a nice shower.
We explored the North side of Boston on our own, visiting Paul Revere's House, the Old North Church and several graveyards (ghost tour was a riot). The aquarium is well worth the time spent there.
I booked our stay at the Boston Yacht Haven, a great place to stay that's off the beaten path but in walking distance of historical sites and great restaurants.,
