Just returned from our carnival cruise on the glory. Had room 2473. Booked this room because of the size and the two windows. Will never book it again. First before i go any further let me tell you that i am accustomed to noise, i sleep with a fan running every night so as to have background noise and i consider myself to be a pretty laid back person. I don't usually sweat the small stuff. With that being said, shame on carnival for not divulging the horrendous noise that came from this room. I did read reviews prior to booking this room, but got mixed feelings from people so i figured i would give it a shot. Probably the biggest mistake i made.

My husband and i were exhausted from lack of sleep. i did call carnival prior to booking it and asked them if there were any significant noise problems with this room and i was assured that there were no complaints about this room. Well i find that hard to believe. I work very hard 365 days a year as most americans do and i look forward to taking a vacation to 'de-stress' and "diffuse" and "rest". I did not do this on this vacation. There was no resting or sleeping in this room. It was impossible. All night long. Rattle, rattle, rattle the entire room rattled. I tried stuffing paper in areas i thought the rattling was coming from and that did not work. The noise was a thousand times worse when pulling into and out of port, but that did not bother me at all as i can understand that. It was a good wake up call. I did go to guest services and beg them for another room but they advised me the boat was full. As i was begging them for another room, the guest who had this same exact room on the port side was threating carnival to sleep in the amber palace theatre if they were not moved due to the same rattling noise problem. In a nutshell, although the room was large and had two great size windows, it is not worth the noise. Again, it is not worth the noise. Stay away from this room. I would have rather slept in a closet than this room.

As for the rest of the cruise. Carnival needs to step it up. Although the staff was excellent, friendly and courteous, the ships need updating and the food is going down hill for sure. There were three nights that there was nothing on the menu that was good. The buffet food was herendous. I used to take my kids to a place called "sizzler" when they were little they loved it because they got free ice cream at the end and could make their own sundae, but the food was awful. Same goes here on the buffet food, it is awful. Salad is the only decent thing. The guy burger bar was excellent, but how many greasy burgers can you eat. Pizza was good. Read more
