My wife and I were a little aprehensive after reading reports from some critic sites of the supposed 'Arcadia Cough', to the point of our considering a cancellation. There was no sign of it during the whole cruise which proves that you should not always believe what you read. I think too many people, on some sites, only do a review when they have something to dragcomplain about. I notice this apears not to be the case with Cruise Critic!

Our cruise was a fantastic experience, on a very good ship. Comfortable, in a balcony cabin, well maintained, clean and serviced by a polite and helpful staff and crew. The food was as we have come to expect from most of the cruises we have been on, Good menu, mostly well cooked and served by friendly waiters. Nothing to complain about!

One regret. We were given 2nd sitting for dinners, even though we asked for 1st. It was too late for us and we were half asleep in the theatre, as were many of our fellow audience members. Next time if we can't get 1st sitting we shall go 'Freedom Dining'. However, it did not spoil the cruise and we had god company on our table.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with Balcony and Bath/Shower

Plenty of room and kept very clean by attentive steward. Bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well without being noisy or draughty, but never did work out how to set the temperature correctly - just opened the balcony door if it got too warm. We were towards the stern but felt no vibrations, or noise. First time we have had a balcony and it was, without doubt, a good choice. Two sun loungers with a small table had plenty of use.

In comparison to previous cruise cabins, it was close to being top of the list.

Port Reviews

Dubrovnik

Made us want to return. A lovely city, clean and very tidy considering the conflict it went through. Friendly people who value the tourists and the revinue they bring.

The Old Town is especially beautiful and with marble paved streets and red roofed buildings is something not to be forgotten.

Venice

The ship's entry into the lagoon and consequent grandstand view of Venice is totally unbelievable. What an experience! However, very crowded in the main tourist areas.

Split

Did not go ashore, but the islands are beautiful.

Corfu

Corfu town was a little disapointing. Plenty of shops open, even on the Sunday we were there. Quaint in parts, narrow alleyways hide many surprises. Large park area with castle worth a visit. Plenty of museums and churches etc. Perhaps we needed to go further afield to fully appreciate the island.
