Flew to Basel to join the Emerald Dawn. A wait of over an hour at the airport before the coach left. Arrived at the boat, efficiently shown to our cabin. In the literature in the cabin I noticed the times you could get lunch in the lounge. We immediately went to the dinning lounge, 2 minutes after the scheduled end to find the food being removed and the attedant informing us we were too late. We were not amused!

The boat was docked in an industrial area, miles from the city.

There was no transport to Basel and no taxis available. Who would arrange a cruise starting in Basel without the opportunity to visit the city? Read more
