We are a mature couple who were celebrating an anniversary and this was not our first cruise but it was our first time cruising with NCL. But basted on this trip it will be the last, even though several people we met on this voyage told us not to judge NCL by this ship.

As soon as we got onboard we noticed that the majority of crew weren't very friendly, a few were even rude. The Aloha Cafe and Liberty Dining room were the worst. It was obvious that most didn't like their jobs very much and we were an annoyance. I will say our cabin steward was quite nice and did a wonderful job. It is our opinion that the free style cruising may be the problem with receiving good service. You don't see the same wait staff each night and they know their tip is guaranteed. I know that if we had had the option of not tipping our dining room crew, we would have chosen to tip them much less. As for the food it was OK and that is all I can say, however we did enjoy the coffee which we had to ask for each night after our meal.

Now on to our cabin,,, we had an inside one and they are smaller than we've had on RCL. It was clean enough but was a little tattered from wear and tear. On our second morning we were awakened by a strong sewage odor. It wasn't coming from our bathroom but seemed to be coming from the AC vent. Of course we complained to the guest relations staff immediately. We're not sure what they did but the odor did go away that morning but kept coming back through out our vacation so we had to call and complain each time. On the last day we were notified by guest relations that we would be receiving an onboard credit which was a nice gesture. However I would have preferred a cabin change.
