SUNSHINE: MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS EVERYWHERE!

I call the Sunshine the “broke, broke” ship because its distinctive feature is the high rate of things that don’t work. We had a premier 11th floor balcony cabin and dealt with a broken phone and broken toilet that wouldn’t flush right the entire 6-day trip! And that was with 2 maintenance calls for each problem, nothing fixed! But the maintenance people are nice! Just incompetent! Others had problems, too. It’s all baffling because the ship was just in dry dock the other year.

I felt most sorry for the kids who had their hopes sky high about going down the big, fancy water slide on the back of the ship only to see the thing work just a few hours the entire week. At dinner we sat with several kids and their parents who were crushed by the experience. If you read other reviews you see that the elevators often don’t work. They worked on our ship but frequently skipped floors.

Cabin 8T

Cabin appearance was OK but nothing to write home about. We thought we were getting a full tub in our room and we didn't. But the broken phone that beeped every 5 minutes and the toiled wouldn't flush right (problem persisted despite after 2 maintenance calls) and those problems kinda spoiled the trip. I wouldn't spend the money to upgrade for this cabin.
