Over all we enjoyed the cruises with both companies, and would go again. We had balconies on both ships. Keep in mind my wife & I are easy to please.
The cabins on NCL came with a coffee pot and ice in your room. Princess did not have this. Princess cabins are a little larger. NCL Jewel has thick black out curtains. The food on Princess is much better, but the overall price of trips we looked at were higher, If you buy the food packages with NCL I think you would break about even.
The lunch's on NCL was like hospital food, no upgrades there.
On the Jewel they have black out curtains and they are great.
We got 4 adults & 1 child into an open sided taxi at the port. $5.00 for all of us to go into town to central market. Did some shopping and walked to the archeology museum. $3.00 each to get in, small but has clean restroom. We walked to the beach from there and took the $5.00 taxi back to the ship.
Our grand daughter swam with the dolphins and they allowed 5 of us in the family to watch for free.
