Third trip with Norwegian. Leaving out of Miami is easy and organized. The two of us were the first two at the adult pool. We wear our bathing suits under our clothing and bring our pool supplies with us. Everything else gets tagged and brought to the room. Bar service was readily available, although towels were available right away, but it was early. As the ship filled up, the pool area did too. I was happy that crew members monitored the kids who wanted to jump in the adult section. They were quickly directed to the other area, which didn't happen on other ships.
Rooms were ready at a reasonable time. We ate a late lunch at O 'Sheehans. We aren't buffet fans. O'Sheehans was overwhelmed. We thought that it was because of the crowds but it was kind of the case on several different days. Food wasn't consistent and didn't necessarily arrive in the right order. The burgers are good, fries are warm or cold. The apps are good, but sometimes they come after the entre or simultaneously.
The balcony room was a bit disappointing. We have never had a smaller balcony. The view in 8770 wasn't what we had hoped. We looked upon the lifeboats and a big metallic box which had some sort of lift attached. The air conditioner had a strong hum. The bathroom had ample space. We heard that there weren't drawers so I brought foldable small bins for a few things. That being said, it was an ok locatin on the ship, really near things on that floor.
Awful view of the deck below with a big metal box and lifeboats. Wish I had known, but maybe the next person will know now. Very small balcony....very small. Noisy air conditioner. Being on the floor with restaurants was nice and cnvenient. Quiet area.
We took a cab to Red Hook. fRom there we took a ferry to St John. Once there we took another taxi to Trunk Bay. Absolutely beautiful and much cheaper than the tour from the ship. I feel that we had more time at St John. We rented beach chairs for $8 each. Ferry was inexpensive - $7 each way. We were able to snorkel while there. Beautiful.
I would have rather gone to Norwegian's private island than to Nassau. There isn't much to do there. We have stopped here before on other ships and it's ok. But once you've gone, it gets old.
