This was the first time that we took a Norwegian cruise. I had only been on Celebrity cruises 2 times before and wanted to try a different cruise line. After reading a lot of reviews and looking over the options, we decided to go with Norwegian on their newest ship.

Overall, this ship was very nice. The center of the ship had a neat staircase and a cool chandelier. We really liked the Waterfront areas on Deck 8 where you could walk around outside, there were outdoor bars, and lots of nice places to sit and enjoy the ocean views. We were not traveling with children, but it seemed that they had a lot of activities and things to do that children would enjoy such as the ropes course, water slides, teen lounge, splash academy, arcade, etc. Our stateroom was good. Nothing overly exciting, but about what you would expect for a cruise ship. I thought the shower was actually very nice for a cruise ship. Room service was OK, but several times we would return to our room late in the afternoon and it had not been cleaned, or we did not receive the turn down service at night.

The pool area was nice, although way too crowded. It was difficult to find a chair to sit in where you could see or hear the poolside entertainment. We were able to find chairs farther away from the action, but would have preferred to be closer to the music playing. The poolside entertainment was good. Read more
