We thought this cruise was a great way to see so much of Hawaii. We are in our mid-50's and pretty easy going, so the little things didn't bother us too much.
We did the 11 day O'ahu explorer land/sea package and this was very nice, although a bit crowded and sometimes unorganized. As part of this package you get a transfer from the airport to the Waikiki Marriott, the day we arrived this seemed unorganized and not a good first impression, but we survived. Then on the first day of the land tour organizing the 150 people that were taking this tour was a bit cumbersome, but it got worked out. You are placed on one of the large 40 seat Polynesian Adventure Tour (owned by NCL) buses and off you go. We had Garfield as our tour guide for this first 3 days, and he was ok. I think I learned more about his family than I did about the sights though. Taking this land tour is a very nice way to get your vacation started and to see the Hawaiian sights and culture.
One very nice feature on Saturday when you check out of the hotel you leave your bags in your room and they are picked up and taken to the ship for you, next time you see them is in your stateroom. You are told when you are dropped off at the pier you will be met by a guide who will walk you through the check in process, this did not happen as we were on our own, but we managed. Everyone was very nice though and the ship was nice. No, some of the crew don't say hello to you when you pass them, they do say Aloha though... the service level in some cases is not up to the standard of a foreign crew, but this is not a complaint. So I have to wait 30 more secs for my soda... I'll live.
Nice cabin, forward port side. A little tight getting around the bed, but it was fine, nice room.
Worth every penny, very professional operation, safety is number one, your enjoyment number two. Great company.
