The cruise and excursions were excellent(for the most part). We did an extension in Barcelona which I recommend. The hotel was very good and well located.Tours were very good. Transfer from airport to hotel and from hotel to ship went smoothly. The ship is beautiful, food was excellent. Viking has brought many of their winning ways from the river cruise to the ocean cruise. The staff on board from room steward to the jackets with stripes were outgoing, friendly, helpful. We got close to many of them, esp the wait staff. On board entertainment and port talks very good. Excursions were super to ok. Rome was crowded and our group was perhaps too large, gondoliers have an attitude. Viking can not control this. Disembark to get to 6AM flight had us on pier at 2:30 am in Istanbul. Should have done the extension in Istanbul. Would recommend this cruise to family and friends. Cabin well set up with good storage. Large bathroom great shower. Will do Viking Homelands tour in June 2016 with pre and post extensions.
