This was our eleventh cruise with princess, and it was the first time we returned very disappointed. The Grand Princess is an aging ship in need of a major renovation or replacement, but it would have been satisfactory except that the air conditioning was not working properly. We went on this cruise not for the itinerary, but just to be away from the hustle and bustle of southern California and to eat and relax on the ocean. We looked forward to a fine dining experience in the main dining room with friends. However, the main dining room during dinner was very hot and humid and it was like eating in a sauna. It was absolutely horrible. The buffet was also hot and humid. Our cabin was very warm also but bearable. We were informed that muscles had clogged the water intake for the air conditioning. In my on-line survey after returning home I complained. I received a call from Princess customer service. The rep apologized and gave us a complimentary dinner at a specialty restaurant on our South American cruise in January/February 2016. I should have asked for our money back.

Our dining room waiter and asst. waiter were excellent. The food was very good, especially the pasta and fish. The lunch buffet was very ordinary cafeteria food. Lunch in the dining room was excellent. Our cabin attendant was excellent and this has always been the case with Princess.

Cabin BE

This cabin is located right below the buffet and we find it very convenient to get our breakfast. Dinner in the main dining room is a short walk to the rear elevator and down to deck six. The cabin is not too large but adequate.
