I disembarked yesterday from the Norwegian Getaway after a 7 day cruise out of Miami visiting St. Thomas, Tortola and Nassau. I can't begin to express how disappointed I am with the cruise line. In short, customer service was a nightmare.

My family, friends and I (7 of us in total) were all looking forward to our cruise on Norwegian, given some good reviews we had seen online and our overall impression that the brand was of a higher quality than Carnival and somewhat equivalent to Royal Caribbean. We are an experienced group with multiple previous cruises on other lines such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Princess, so we are not newbies to cruising.

I will also preface this review by stating that we are not overly-demanding people. We are middle-class, and many of us have held at one point in our lives service industry jobs, so we know what it is like to have to work with the general public. It's not always fun, which is why we addressed our concerns with staff with empathy and understanding that things don't always go as planned.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin was nice, roomy and clean, however the lacquer fake-wood trim was too reminiscent of the 1980's for such a new ship. This was my first time with a balcony state room and it was a very nice experience.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

Took a taxi tour independent from the ones offered by the cruise line.

Miami

Didn't take any excursions on embarkation day

Nassau

Didn't take an excursion but did walk through the shopping district and had lunch at Señor Frogs.
