The quality of the room and food was not met in comparison to other cruise lines. The size of the ship may have had something to do with the decline in quality of service. Too large of a ship for the staff size. Since my husband and I did not suggest traveling on Royal Caribbean, we did not want to mention our experience to our other traveling companions. However, once we were home, we were told by them they had similar experiences and were very dissatisfied with this trip. Here are just a few things that brought about our dissatisfaction:
1. We were in a room that smelled of urine for the entire 7 days. Although the staff was notified the bathroom was never cleaned well and the rooms never vacuumed or freshened.
2.) I intentionally left two bottle caps on the floor to see if it would be noticed but they were left in visible site for 5 days.
The Superior Stateroom was not superior in any way. The name and price gives the impression that the room would be a little larger but not! I was told that the urine smell coming from the bathroom was coming from the "system". Just smelled like the floors needed to be mopped to me. The room was never vacuumed and I felt a little ticked off when they left those "extra gratuity" envelopes in the room on the last night. After paying $13 per night per person for gratuities already and we couldn't get our room tidied up properly, we felt taken advantage of.
