From the moment we stepped aboard the Viking Ingvar we felt at home. We were made to feel a welcome friend and nothing was too much trouble for the crew at whatever level from tour director to waiting or cabin staff. The food and service was excellent. Our stateroom was clean and comfortable, smallish but perfectly formed as a base. You do not spend much time there except to sleep!
The talks were very informative and formed a crucial background to our excursions. The entertainment on board was good.
The excursions, included and optional suited all needs. They were made even better by the guides who travelled with us and by the knowledgeable local guides. The visits to a Russian home was a very different experience to the normal coach tour around the sights!
Cabin Review
The standard staterooms on the main deck are well designed with sufficient space for two people. It is furnished with all that of a regular hotel room, as is the ensuite shower room. I love the L'Occitaine toiletries supplied - and replenished as needed. There is plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space for a 13 night holiday.
