You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. We were so excited by the hype about the renovation of the Desiny to the Sunshine. And hype is all it is. The ship wasn't horrible but it's still and old ship. What was horrible and not redone was our balcony room. We have sailed Carnival almost 20 time and this balcony room but far was the saddest room I'd been in. It's the first balcony that didn't have a fridge. The bathroom was soooo small they actually had to put the toilet in at an angle. You had to step in completely to even close the door. And the balcony was not redone at all, the paint was chipped and corroded. The highlight of the cruise was the Cruise Director's staff and the entertainment shows. The shows were fantastic. The cruise Director's staff were great. They had a guest CD C-luv, he was a lot of fun but the best part was his staff at the game shows, trivia and Veterans Tribute. The tribute was done by Sarah from San Diego and she was fantastic, she even made me tear up during the tribute. She and Gary from Scotland did most of the games and trivia. They were both fantastic. Sarah went out of her was to get to know the guest and form relationships with them.

The ports were fun but way to short. We did the Reef and Rays in Grand Tuks, I'd highly recommend this. It was fun and this port has very little to do. I would suggest another ship. The Sunshine just doesn't work... Carnival took an old ship and it just doesn't work. I hope Carnival realizes they are taking away way to many perks that Carnival is becoming a third class cruise line, this is from a person who favorite cruise line use to be Carnival... It just isn't what it use to be... So sad

Cabin Review

Balcony

Clean was the best part. No refrigerator. Extremely small and the bathroom was horrible. The ONLY thing that kept it from being just a fraction larger than an airplane bathroom was it had a shower. The couch was very short about the length of a babies crib mattress. And the wooden cabinets were like the cheap pressed wood covered in veneer. In the past this would of been considered an obscured room. You could not see down to the water because the lifeboats blocked the view. Not happy with this cabin at all

San Juan

We walked to the Fort and that was very nice. Loved just walking around the colorful streets
