Our fourth time on Quest and, as always, we had a wonderful time. After a great three days in Barcelona we took a taxi to the cruise terminal. Our driver headed to the outer terminal, but Quest was tied up right next to the main terminal; one of the lovely things about being on that size cruise ship is that it can dock right in town! Our check in was quick and we were delighted to see our old friend, John, staffing the specialty restaurant reservation desk. It really did feel like coming home. We were able to make our reservations quickly and efficiently and soon we were aboard, sipping bubbly, and heading to Windows for lunch. Our bags arrived quickly and we were soon unpacked and ready for muster and sailaway.

We had made a reservation at Aqualina for that evening as it was my birthday. The new menu at Aqualina is very nice and we did enjoy it, but I sure missed the goat cheese soufflé. When we got back to our room, after seeing the show, we found that our wonderful cabin attendants, Chang and Mark, had decorated the room for my birthday! It made the day even more special. Later on in the cruise, on my husband's birthday, the room was decorated again! And, because we were also celebrating a 45th anniversary, we received a third night of decoration, including Happy Anniversary pillows! So much fun. Chang and Mark are great....the room was always clean and tidy and they always greeted us with a smile and hello and a "have a good day."

Food. Always important to me! Generally very very good. Actually, I would rate the food in the MDR as good as the food in the specialty restaurants. And the food is always made better by the service; in this case our friends John and Tayfun and John's assistant, Darryl. We were only able to eat at Tayfun's station once because he had only one 4 top, so we had most of our meals with John. Both, however, are terrific and so delightful to talk to. John, especially, is so obliging. One night my husband was craving a burger but came to the MDR with us (we were traveling with another couple) He asked John if there was any way he could get one. John laughed and told him he'd have to sit at the children's table, but a burger and fries magically appeared! Husband was happy and so were the rest of us! Food at Windows was very good and a nice variety and the pool grill was very good (do try the blackened fish Panini...yum!)
