We had a wonderful time on the Adventure of the Seas on the 9/26/15 sailing. I was traveling with my husband and 7 year old daughter. We all enjoyed the ship and what it had to offer. Embarkation was easy. When the taxi dropped us off around 12:15, we saw the area for Emerald members off to the left so we left our luggage with them and got into the queue for Emerald members. There was no line there so we were in quickly. We grabbed 2 bottles of wine inside the port to carry on the ship, then got our sea pass cards and were on our way. We were on the ship before 1pm!

Staterooms were not ready until 2pm so we headed up to the Windjammer for lunch. Food on the ship was ok. Some better than others. The interesting thing was that we were on the Majesty 3 weeks earlier and had some good meals in the MDR we were looking forward to again. The same food items were not as good on this ship- some were inedible! This made us head to the Windjammer for dinner after 2 nights and we were pleasantly surprised. It had sushi, a Mongolian beef station where they cooked each person's made to order, a make your own pizza station, they would do a quick steak and had another special area where it was fajitas one night, crepes one night. Breakfast was typical, but we tried to head to the back and get a made to order omelet or eggs (sometime the line was very long for this). We did eat a Giovanni's one night since it was free from our TA and I have to say we were not super impressed. The food/ service was ok, but not great enough to make me want to pay $25 per person for it. We did enjoy have the cafe promenade to get sandwiches and pizzas anytime and Ben and Jerry's as well. Johnny Rockets was a fun lunch spot, but it seems the the new price of $6.95 a person is a little high. Especially for my daughter who did not eat that much worth of food.

The ship seemed to be in great shape. Nothing looked old or dated. We did not participate in many activities other than trivia or the shows, but the things we did do were run well and fun.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Great room and a great location. It is an aft balcony room with a large balcony that had 2 chairs, 2 lounge chairs and two tables (1 higher bigger one and 1 smaller, lower one). You do see the white metal pieces off the back, but it did not bother us too much. The only issue we had with the balcony is 2 decks down was an area for employees and t was were they smoked, so we would get smoke smell sometime while relaxing. That deck also always had a light on so at night it was pretty bright on the balcony, making it hard to see stars. This room is one of the quietest staterooms we have ever been in. We felt some vibrations during the times when we were going a little faster- like above 10 knots, but other than that, nothing. The room sleeps 3, with the Pullman bed above the main bed. This left plenty of room in the stateroom and it had a small couch. There is many storage areas and we were able to put all of our clothes in the drawers and closets, then the suitcases fit under the bed.

Port Reviews

San Juan

All we did was go from airport to the port. It was very easy to get a taxi at the airport and the cost was $19 plus $1 for any bag they put in the car for you. It took about 15 minutes to get to the port.
