After 11 cruies with Carnival we decided to try RCCL. There are a lot of things that we did not like about this ship. First the cabin was tiny. The cabin was 150 sq ft vs Carnival 185 sq ft. The cabin was plain and simple with no extras. We could barely fit into the shower. The towels and bedsheets were worn and old. No robes or pool towels. TV channels were mostly ads for the ship stores and half were in Spanish which we do not understand. No little extras in the bathroom like Carnival.

The food in the dining room was nothing to talk about. The buffet food was horrible and the same every day. We had to hunt down the coffee. They shut down the buffet at 9 PM and you have to travel down 6 decks to get coffee at Starbucks. Pizza was nasty and no salads. Carnival has 24 hr pizza and fresh salads. We ordered a ceaser salad and they sent us Kens dressing and a 3.95 bill. No 24 hr room service on this ship. You also had to pay 6.95 for a burger at Johnny Rockets. Carnival is free. The specialty restaurants were next to the buffet and were very noisy. The food was not as good as Carnival.

As far as the pool deck the had music blasting very early and late into the night. Large screen at pool was nonstop sports all day and night. We could not hear ourselves talk. The smoking section next to the children's pool area was always crowed and smoky. The shopping area was very large but sold the same thing as carnival ship. The had a lot of bars in this area. They sold ice cream and cupcakes here also. It seems like everything you get for free on Carnival you had to pay for on this ship. If you want to travel all over this ship and pay extra for everything you like it. Not us. We are booking Carnival next time. You also have to sign for towel's at the pool. They charge $25 if you lose it. They are also thin and threadbare. If you like to eat after dinner time you are out of luck. We were very dissatisfied with this cruise.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

Went to Orient beach. Not as nice as last time we were there. Water was beautiful and warm. Beach properties were rundown. Rented chair and umbrellas which were ful of holes. We got a cab and he made us wait until he got a full load. Almost half an hour.
