Just returned from our third cruise on Jade and sorry to say it will be our last. The standard of service and overall ambience of the ship has deteriorated since last year. Our mini suite on deck 11 was comfortable enough although the bed was as hard as a rock and our steward didn't really know how to make up a bed, but a nice enough young man. We found the level of noise from the entertainment too much, everything was played at the highest decibel level possible, even the piano player in the bar was so loud you couldn't have a conversation without shouting at companions added to that televisions blaring sports games made for an uncomfortable evening, nowhere seemed to be quiet to sit and have a drink.

Only used the Alizar MDR once, food was OK but as we placed next to the waiter station even it wasn't quiet . Jasmine Garden was the best for a relaxing meal and the food here has improved dramatically, thank goodness its now included. Buffet as usual was busy and food here was also good. Drinks service everywhere was very slow but that was expected as it seems everyone we met had the drinks package. The pool deck was a nightmare again music blaring all the time and had a holiday camp feel to it, much more than before but it will suit some, just not us!!

Ports of call were good, transport to and from the ship well organised, didn't use any NCL trips did our own thing and enjoyed them all. Katakolon was a pleasant surprise would like to go back, Mykonos was also great as usual, Santorini was mobbed and definitely getting a bit too touristy. Corfu has some interesting shops and sights, easy from the ship, local bus to centre only 1.5 euros. In all a reasonably pleasant trip, we enjoyed meeting fellow cruise critic members especially Elspeth and her husband, The entertainment was good Tenors of rock especially and the illusionist was good also. Just a pity about the noise levels!!!!

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Usual mini suite clean and spacious, loads of storage. Balcony suffered from noise from above, especially sail away parties and dragging sounds till late at night, balcony wasn't clean.

Port Reviews

Corfu

Corfu town easy to reach if you don't want to do an excursion, ship has a bus to the cruise terminal where you can catch a local bus to Corfu town for about 1.5 euros and do your own thing, good shops and interesting sites and some super little cafes to have a coffee.

Santorini

Santorini is a tender port, well organised from the Jade. take the cable car up and down unless you are super fit. Very busy loads of tacky shops but also some nice little museums.

Mykonos

A tender port, but an easy walk into the town which is charming and more upmarket than Santorini, Beautifull jewellers shops and interesting curios to be found also some super cafes to enjoy a drink at. Tip don't just stay at the bars at the seafront, the little ones tucked away are much better.
