So let me start my saying that when I started planning our cruise to Alaska I looked at almost every cruise line available. We settled on NCL because there would be three of us and we didn't want to be sharing a room. Therefore we really did need a two bedroom suite of some sort and NCL was the best option for that. My husband and I would be in the master bedroom and his mom in the second bedroom. Each having its own restroom and temperature control. We shared a living area and balcony, more than enough space for the three of us. Since this was the first vacation with my mother in law, I really did want everything to go smoothly and I was happily surprised that we ran into no real issues during the entire cruise.

Upon arriving at the pier we were escorted to the priority boarding area so we would not have to stand in all the lines, a suite perk that was really helpful and I cannot imagine boarding any other way. Once we boarded we were informed that our room was probably not ready yet but that we were welcome to have lunch at Cagney's, also a suite perk. So we were escorted there and our trip seemed to officially begin. We relaxed through lunch, and then we down to our stateroom. We were happy to see that some of our luggage had already arrived at the room. Soon our butler came in to introduce himself and let us know how to contact him for anything we want or need. He was incredibly helpful throughout the entire trip, bringing me hot water for tea throughout the day while we were cruising glacier bay, bringing snacks every day and always making sure we had fresh fruit.

Our room steward as well was very helpful and always easy to reach for simple requests.

Cabin Review

Family Penthouse with Balcony

Cabin SC

This cabin seems to be under the shuffleboard area, so when out on the balcony we could hear that. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. Amazing space, no complaints. Huge master bathroom. Windows at the bathtub and shower. Comfortable furniture throughout the suite.

Second bedroom has a futon type bed which was turned down and made up every evening so my mother in law didn't have to bother with it, she also said that she was quite comfortable with the bed and never had any complaints.

Coffee machine was nice to have even though I was the only one to use it.

After having this much space you will never be able to go back to a small stateroom.
