I have been on many cruises. Amber Cove is not ready. There were only a few stores open and they had very little stock. This was my second cruise on the Victory. If this had been my first cruise, it would have been my last. Thankfully I have enjoyed many in between. My balcony room was pretty standard. The food was the worst on any cruise I have taken. Several people said they enjoyed the top 10 excursion. I took the sightseeing & shopping. It was so bad that after the second stop I took a taxi back to the port. Embarkation is great because I am platinum and get priority boarding. Debarkation was pretty much the same. The entertainment was ok, I expected more being on a bigger ship. But the customer service desk was the worst of all the cruise ships I have been on. My favorite port is New Orleans. This time I left from Miami.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Was not even close to being ready for guests. The buildings are beautiful but most of them were not even open. The few that were open had very limited products to offer.
