Lets start by saying that Viking River Cruises are not cheap. The 14 day Rhine and Danube cruise rounds out at about $1000/day per couple. For that price, you get a well organized cruise. Small but efficient accomodation. Limited space on the ship and bridge inaccessible for aboit half the cruise. Shore excursions involve a lot of walking. The Danube is low on water, so you have to change ship at the middle of the trip. Main complaint is the food. Breakfast and lunch are OK but dinner is not up to par, at least not for the price. If you are not into food, then you are OK, but if you are a gourmet, forget this cruise line. Wine and beer are abundant, but run of the mill stuff. Ordinary table wine. Again, NOT WORTH THE PRICE!
