We have had some negative experiences with Carnival cruises in the past so we decided to approach this cruise with very low expectations. That seems to have paid off because we were pleasantly surprised by this cruise. The staff was very friendly and kept the common areas clean. The shows with the singers and dancers were very good. The food was very good as well. The service in the dining room was very slow but mainly because we had a table of 12 as far away from the galley as you could get. The wait staff tried very hard to get us out more quickly but we were the last table out every night. This caused us to miss some of the entertainment we had wanted to see.
We booked a Victor Bodden tour in Roatan after reading positive reviews on Cruise Critic. The Fun-N-Sun tour was excellent. Dahlia was very informative and friendly. I was very impressed with the response to my e-mails prior to the cruise and reserved 6 spots for the tour. During the cruise, the 6 other members of our group decided they wanted to go as well. I emailed Victor and he quickly responded increasing my reservation from 6 to 12. This tour was a terrific value. For only $30 each, we saw lots of the island, held monkeys and parrots at Victor Bodden's Monkey Business as well as enjoyed several hours at a private beach. If I find myself in Roatan again, I will definitely work with Victor Bodden again!!
In Cozumel, we booked a day of fun at Mr. Sancho's. Again, this was a great value at $55 per person. We ate lots of good food and drank plenty of margaritas while enjoying their pool and beach. I would highly recommend this for a relaxing day in Cozumel.
Cabin was average for a balcony cabin. We had issues with yellow discoloration of the hot water which they never fixed. The A/C wasn't working appropriately and they didn't fix it after reporting it 3 times.
Since we live in the area, we did not take an excursion in New Orleans.
