The nightmare started even before we boarded. I could not use any of my shipboard credits until I boarded. I had $400.00 in non refundable and refundable crets. My bill on the cruise showed total charges of 414.83 and I had a balance owed of 14.83. Imagine my surprise when I got home and my credit card was billed 138.38 instead. When I called Norwegian I was told by two different Reps. that they applied my 150.00 in non refundable credit to my total bill instead of to the daily service charge which is what I wanted and requested. The reps also would not connect me to a manager. In addition the toilet water level came to the very top and it was dirty and nasty so men make sure you keep your penis on top of the seat or you will get a nasty surprise when you get up.

We paid extra for a balcony cabin but it was so small, it was unusable. It was so small that you did not have enough room for your feet if you tried to sit in the chair. One person at a time could use the balcony by turning the chair sideways. The excursions were way overpriced. I always expect to pay about 20 per cent markup on cruise excursions but for example Norwegian wanted almost $200.00 for two people bus tour that you could fo on your own for $38.00. The Second City comedy was pitiful. A number of passengers commented on how unfunny they were. I met several passengers who were a lot funnier than Second City was.

A glass of soda was almost $6.00. This was my 14th cruise with 13 cruises on other cruiselines and ships and the worst one overall. I am a millionaire and can afford to buy what I want. However I do not like being lied to about what I owe, to be unfairly charged and to feel like I am being ripped off. When we picked up our luggage one of them was ripped across the top so badly that the airline would not accept it in its current condition. I could not find a baggage service area in the exit terminal. There are a numbr of great cruiselines and cruise ships out there, but Norwegian is not even in the running. STAY AWAY or you may experience a nightmare on the Breakaway like I did.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BB

Balcony too small, toilet not functional, bath door squskef, haf to use room key to activate lights and powe so you could not charge anything while you were gone. Also it was easy to forget your room key card because you put it into the power slot. The AC was always either too hot o rd too cold. The shower and faucet water was almost always too hot.
