We landed at Dalaman airport and went through customs having already purchased our Turkish visa before we traveled. This costs $20 online, (about £14 ). Transfer to Marmaris took just over an hour, and once checked in we were on board within 30 mins. We have been on the Thomson Spirit several times before, so new exactly what to expect. The ship is a little tired but it has a big heart, and for anyone who has been on the Lido pool deck you can feel it beating. (though I guess its just the engine) The crew on board were fantastic, very polite and friendly, the shows in the evening were also of a good standard, with a special mention to Bandi and Max, their show was excellent.
And now for the only reason I haven't given the holiday 5 stars. The old cruise entertainment director Richard Gray has been replaced, and to be quite honest, the day time entertainment left a lot to be desired. The new director seems to think that blindfolding other members of the team, and pushing them into the swimming pool as good fun, I suggest he perhaps is in the wrong job and a rep for 18-30 club maybe more to his liking. Also other holiday makers mentioned that he always announced what was happening on the pool deck or High Spirits, but not a word about the best band on the ship. The 3 Dimensions, in Horizons bar, which some guests didn't discover till the end of the cruise, and felt they had missed out. That is my only gripe, we had a lovely time so,as long as the New Dimension are on board, We'll keep cruising on the Spirit. See you next year.
The cabin was just a standard cabin, nothing fancy, we feel that we don't spend much time there so why go O.T.T.
