Cabin: Balcony

We travelled in Europe for nine days before flying to Copenhagen to board the Regal Princess for this trans-Atlantic cruise. We were in cabin M611.

Embarkation was efficient. Unfortunately, our suitcases did not arrive until later--when the cabin steward explained that there "was a problem." A bottle of wine, securely wrapped in the center of one large suitcase, survived the flight from Paris; on the Princess transfer from the Copenhagen airport, or during handling thereafter, it was broken, and ALL our clothes were soaked with French cabernet. Our steward did see that the clothes were returned clean after dinner, but a few had to be sacrificed as they had been dried and were no longer wearable.

Although sources showed that our balcony cabin would be the same size as on the Sapphire Princess last summer, when we took the trans-Pacific Cruise, it was not. Good: The shower stall was now barely adequate size and contained the water better than on the Sapphire. There was more than adequate storage space. Bad: The two chairs and tiny table were constantly being repositioned to let us sit down, open the balcony door, open the refrigerator, etc. There was barely enough floor space for the furniture to stand on; it was extremely crowded.

Too small! We were tripping over the furniture. The balcony was also extremely small.
