Overall the vacation was good and we had a good time in Hawaii. Having cruised several times (on other cruise lines) prior to this trip, we did have a certain level of expectation.
First the good. Norwegian has pretty decent food and a nice variety. Not spectacular, but pretty good. The boat was maintained well and is also more modernized than we expected. The stateroom, though tight, was welcoming enough. The majority of the staff was pleasant and friendly.
The not so good. It's standard to charge extra for drinks on a cruise. What was surprising to us was there were 4 restaurants included in our cruise price, and 7 not included. Really? You can get room service 24/7 but get ready to pay a $7.95 charge. The shore excursions were ridiculously high. Norwegian nickles and dimes you to death.
Went to Pearl Harbor on our own it was wonderful!
Rented a car and toured the island. Best choice!
