We booked this cruise as the itinerary was interesting to us and our previous P & O cruise experience (on Adonia) was excellent. We were not disappointed. The fact that Arcadia is an adult only ship had a special appeal to us. We found the service to be excellent in all areas. We had booked a mini-suite which looked lovely and were upgraded to a full suite which was fantastic. It was very spacious, had everything we needed for a comfortable cruise, and the bed was the best we have had yet on a cruise ship. The food in the Meridian Restaurant was excellent (we found it even better than that on recent Queen Mary 2 crossings). The chosen port calls in Iceland were excellent, as were the shore excursions we booked there. We enjoyed the port of Alesund, Norway and found our tour there to be good, however, we were disappointed with Flam, Norway and our shore excursion on the Flam Railway. We were disappointed that we were unable to make the port call in Kirkwall, Scotland due to high winds, but were pleased that the captain was able to add a port call in Belfast in its place. We especially enjoyed the “Behind the Scenes” tour and highly recommend it. The speaker, a British military historian, was very interesting.

Suite with Balcony and Bath/Shower

Cabin AC

A perfect cabin! There is plenty of room to spread out in this cabin - a large desk area with window, a large sofa and two chairs, a separate desk with coffee and tea making facilities, a large bathroom, and a nice vanity/make-up area as well. Plenty of storage of all kinds. The balcony is very large and had a table and chairs and well as lounge chairs. Very comfortable bed.

Port Reviews

Southampton

An easy port for embarkation and disembarkation. Limited choice of nice hotels.

Akureyri

This is a lovely town with much to do on your own within easy walking distance. We did some shopping in the town, climbed to the church and visited the botanical gardens.
