This ship is certainly big and there are so many beautiful features to see. The shows are brilliant particularly Mamma Mia but the Ice Games show and the Aqua Show were also brilliant. The food was a little below the quality we received on the Brilliance of the Seas earlier this year and the wait staff were overly attentive, constantly begging you to give them a 10 in the post cruise survey.

The Cruise Director was hardly ever seen and appeared to be relying on the activities available on the ship to entertain you (FlowRider, mini golf, rock climbing wall, etc) however if you didn't do those there was not a lot else to do. I previously enjoyed The Quest and was upset to hear that it wasn't on the Allure this summer however presumably the CD had been told that he had to have it so he scheduled it for midnight on the night after Rome and before Naples when everyone was worn out and had to be up early the next day, I would assume that given this timing that it was poorly attended.

Unfortunately while we were away my husband suffered from gastro-enteritis and was confined to the cabin for 3 days. The medical staff were excellent, the room steward was marvellous and always cheerful even when cleaning the bathroom after my poorly husband.

Interior Stateroom

Cabin Q

This cabin is not just smaller than a standard cabin it is missing some of the bells and whistles that normally come with an Allure of the Seas cabin making it very basic. No ipod station, no room service breakfast menu, no Royal Caribbean book (with full room service menu), etc. The wardrobe is half the size of a standard cabin and there is a chair instead of a sofa. Honestly the cabin would be better without the chair because you can't get into the wardrobe without dragging the heavy chair out of the say. There are no drawers except for a very small one in the bathroom, a few cupboards with shelves but no drawers for little bits and pieces. The bed when it is made up as a double is against the wall on one side so I would recommend that if you stay in this cabin you ask for the beds to be separated. This room is adequate but honestly pay the extra and go for a standard size room
