Sail Date: Sep 2015
SS Legacy's bell on the bow at sunrise on the Columbia River
Multnomah Falls - - one of the shore excursions
Hells Canyon - - a 50 mile each way jet boat trip. Terrific!
The S. S. Legacy - a replica of an old time coastal steamer. Beautiful!
Sunset on the river . . we saw these nearly every night!

We just got back from 7 GLORIOUS DAYS on the S. S. Legacy. Leaving from Portland, we journey through the locks of the Columbia River . . .to the Willamette River, and finally to the Snake River. There we boarded jet boats for 50 miles each way into Hells Canyon. The scenery was UNBELIVIEVABLE . .narrow canyons, beautiful rocks, clear rushing water. From there, we sailed back past Portland to Astoria on the Pacific Ocean, and then returning to Portland.

This is a small cruise ship as we only had 56 passengers. The crew catered to our every wish in such a gracious manner! The chef on the ship is definitely FIVE STAR! The food was delicious and the presentation was like an artist's palete! Wine is served with every dinner and also an aperitif (included in the basic price). Drinks in the bar a similarly served at no extra cost.

And, the tour guides are FANTASTIC! The two guides were knowledgeable, humorous, and intently interested in the history of the area. The lectures were frequently about Lewis and Clark as this was part of their route to the west.

All very lovely! Nicely appointed.
