This was my 3rd time on the Celebrity Reflection. Much has already been written about this great cruise ship, but I thought it would be a good idea to draw everyone's attention to some things that have changed since the Reflection first sailed in 2012. It may be that the differences I noticed was because my previous cruises were to the Caribbean and this one was to the Mediterranean, I can't be sure.
Pre-cruise, we stayed 4 nights in Rome at the Marriott Courtyard Rome Central Park. I Do not recommend you stay there while in Rome!! It was quite far from anywhere you would want to be and we had to take taxis everywhere we went which was expensive and inconvenient. Yes, it was much less costly than the hotels in the heart of Rome, and even with taxi fares it was still cheaper, but if you included the value of your time wasted on the road and the hassle of finding a taxi I do not feel it was worth it. You would think that after a long day of site seeing you would want to go back to the hotel to relax, but what about dinner? The hotel restaurant, though good, was closed on the weekend and there were no other restaurants in sight.
The Celebrity Reflection is just as clean and beautiful as it was when I was first on it in 2012.
Well appointed. Good use of space. The bathroom is very nice with a glass enclosed shower and plenty of shelf space for toiletries. Above the bed there is a storage cabinet, I recommend bringing 1-3 foldable storage bins approx 10 x10x10 to organize stuff you place there. Very much liked the location of this cabin, almost halfway between the banks of elevators.
