We did our cruise on the last week of the season, from 20-27 Sept, 2015. Although rain was predicted beforehand, it turned out to be almost perfect, even warm enough at one point for me to sunbathe on our balcony. This was after almost 2 weeks of torrential rains and 100+ mph winds from the remnants of a typhoon that crossed the Pacific from Japan, so a week of sunshine and moderate temps (for them) had ALL the Alaskans in a super-good mood, adding to ours. We have cruised with NCL multiple times and we have always been pleased with the outcome. My husband and I started planning this trip over 3 years ago. We had to change our trip dates, and had to work with the travel insurance personnel. They were very helpful and we were really glad we had chosen this option.

We did the whale watching in Juneau, Klondike Family Experience in Skagway, and kayaking with eagle watching in Ketchikan. We were not interested in any of the Victoria, BC excursions so we got off the boat, walked around, then headed back aboard about dusk since we figured that the food on the ship would be just as good or better than what was available in the port, anticipating that the open restaurants on-board would not be busy--and we were right. As the evening progressed though, the restaurant filled and it was obvious others had come to the same conclusion (overhearing their discussions as we left the restaurant), and it seemed that everyone was back on board about an hour before our departure time.

Coming back early allowed us to see an additional Tim Kaminsky show as well. We LOVED the comedian Tim Kaminsky. Our room steward was not the best we've had; she seemed to be in a bad mood for most of our time there. The show Man From Mars was OK. We always enjoy Legends in Concert. We were able to obtain seats at the Chef's Table, which are limited, for the first time after several tries on our other cruises. This special event fell on my birthday, and the group of people with us were great, and the food that the Executive Chef prepared for us specially was superb. The whole experience was memorable, but it really was dependent upon those who also signed up making it better than just the food. The staff and sommelier Irving were more relaxed in this setting, laughing along with us, and in turn, making us laugh too at their good-naturedness.

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

As expected, but we've had this type cabin before. Having the balcony for an Alaska trip was well worth it. During our cruise to the glacier, lunch was spent there with tapas that I brought back from the Deck 12 buffet (Garden Palace) with the wine that we had in our room.
