Every trip I take I read the reviews for helpful information. I realize that my opinion and someone else's opinion of the same trip can be vastly different. This was only my third cruise. All three have been RC. Grandeur - small, at the time older (supposedly now renovated) but my FIRST CRUISE. I loved it, even though it was older etc. Next trip Oasis, loved it. But it only took one time for me to get to the pool and realize I forgot something in the room. After that I always made sure I had want I needed when I headed out. Lots and lots of walking. Loved the many food choices on Oasis.

How does this compare to Independence. Loved the size of this ship. Shows were enjoyable. You have to keep in mind that you are not paying for Broadway tickets, so it probably is not going to be as good as a Broadway show. But nevertheless we found each show to be an enjoyable way to spend an hour in the evening. Make sure you go to the Love and Marriage show, the QUEST and the Battle of the Sexes. All very entertaining.

FOOD CHOICES: Windjammer, some good, some not so much, lots of variety. Main Dining Room, some really good, some only good. (The thing I noticed is even though our servers were very good and friendly, they seem to have so many people to serve that they really have to "rush" to keep up. Maybe it is that way on all ships and all lines now. More people to serve, fewer servers. Less time for conversations with the guests. I had enjoyed my first cruise many years ago where the servers had some extra time to get acquainted with their guests) This rush did not affect our service or our food quality, just something I feel worth mentioning.
