This was our first River Cruise and what a fabulous adventure it was from the start in Amsterdam to the spectacular finish when we arrived in Budapest and it's amazing light show! The crew on our ship - the Magni were outstanding! They liked what they did and it showed. We so enjoyed their high energy level and how much fun they were to be with all the time. As we cruised, ultimately through 67 sets of locks, we gazed at castles, churches and gorgeous scenery and enjoyed our meals that matched the region we were in with regional dishes and drink. We were entertained nightly with activities, toured many cities during the day, had demonstrations and educational lectures. Yes! - we will be back traveling yet another river with Viking!
Our cabin was at the water level which was not a problem at all. Everything was so new and so clean! We're guessing our room was 125 looking at a longship diagram.
Outstanding! Most preserved castle along the Rhine.
We first toured the various areas of Nuremburg by bus. The history was fascinating! We then stayed for the afternoon in the City Square which was very festive because of Mother's Day with a band, picnic tables, food and drink vendors and every family in town!
Walking tour - so medieval- must eat at Germany's oldest restaurant here - Alte Stadtmauer -signature dish -sausage roll with sweet mustard -so good!
Attended the Organ Concert at St. Stephen's Cathedral- largest cathedral organ in the world. The church and organ music were a must do!
Loved this tour! The buildings are beautiful and I was fascinated by the medieval transcripts. The library is unbelievable!
