Cabin: Sky Suite 1

This was our second Alaska cruise and roughly 35th with Celebrity, many on Solstice class ships. It was surely one of our best.

We usually book veranda cabins, which we had on this one. Several days before leaving, however, we were offered and accepted the opportunity to upgrade (for a price) to a Sky Suite. Great decision! Not only is the suite size more than ample for our needs, but it has a larger bathroom with a tub, a larger balcony, and updated furnishings. The best feature, though, is the ability to dine in Celebrity's new concept, suite only restaurant, Luminae.

The food in Luminae was among the best I have ever eaten, anywhere. The service was outstanding, but very casual and personal. The room itself, which was carved from a portion of the Grand Epernay dining room, is gorgeous and small enough to be intimate, allowing easy conversation with other guests. Excellent experience, and it's going to be hard to go back to verandas.

Port Reviews

Seattle

We arrived the afternoon before and spent the night at a motel near the airport. I had arranged via the internet with Allstate Towncar Service to pick us up the next morning to go to the ship. The car, a new, spotless , large SUV arrived right on time. The driver, Lallu, loaded the four large suitcases, and drove directly and quickly to the pier. He was neat, friendly and interesting. The cost, $50, was very competitive. Couldn't ask for better limo service.
