Firstly, we arrived onboard and the check in experience was completely pain free and efficient. Great we thought, however it was a little downhill from here on after. Our main grievance is the 'disgressionary' service charge that was not only added to your stateroom and was unable to be taken off but also to every beverage and dining experience we encountered. We opted to book a 3 night meal package which I cannot fault the food which was excellent however we were placed on a table with a screaming child parked in his prime, directly next to my husband for the whole of our tapenyaki experience which was by far acceptable being that it was our wedding anniversary.

Also on out arrival on the Sunday I asked if there were any room upgrades available, willing to pay the difference of course and on the Tuesday evening spoke to one of the receptionists asking if there were any available from the Wednesday as I knew quite a few passengers were getting off in Rome. No, we are travelling at full capacity until Sunday, sorry. However, when I enquirerd again on Wednesday evening, after being told by a friend that they had been given an upgrade the receptionist said, we only have inside cabins left now, if you would have asked yesterday..... I did!

The entertainment we found to be average at best, the beetles seemed to be more interested in looking like them than sounding like them. Never before have I left a show early but I have to admit, I couldn't endure any more. I don't want to appear like one of those people that just moan on about thing because that really isn't the way I am, we were more than happy with the majority of the services offered, the room steward was excellent it's more the fact that the ' desgressionary' service charge isn't ' desgressionary' at all, bearing in mind that we also left tips directly with the staff and that the service we received from the reception was poor!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IA

The cabin itself for an inside cabin was more than adequate, the toilet area was slightly compact but no real problem. The cabin staff were excellent, very accommodating and friendly, even when we were locked out of our room for 20 mins due to a faulty lock and missed the first half of the show!
