This is definitely not my first cruise, I'm currently a platinum member with Carnival. I decided to give NCL a try, and this is my results. The Norwegian Pearl is a very clean ship, actually better than Carnival. The Alaska trip was great, but you have very limited time at each port. It was still worth going. We ate at the specialty restaurants, which was included in our package. All the restaurants were fantastic. Very small casino, and not many popular tables. We attended the show Swing, I couldn't make it through the entire show. I actually wanted to jump off the ship, no part of this show is entertaining. However many people stayed and watched it, just not me.

Since this was a cold winter cruise to Alaska, you could not enjoy any outdoor activities on board, no fault of the cruise, it's just that type of cruise. So daily entertainment was very limited. We tried the buffet for lunch, and I was not happy with it at all, the food did not have much flavor. Highly recommend the specialty dinning. Ok as far as my room, not a great experience, I had to deal with bedbugs all week. I will not recommend this cruise to my family and friends based on my experience, but you should read everyone's reviews and decide for yourself.

Courtyard Villa with Balcony

Cabin H4

Terrible terrible terrible did I say terrible! Great looking room with private pool area. But the first morning I woke up with a couple of bug bites. I didn't think to much of it and I casually made a comment to the butler. The second morning I woke up scratching with more bites. I the reported it to housekeeping, which they changed the bedding and had pest control look over the room, with no results. Third and forth mornings, I woke up with the same results. Even more bites. I continued complaining about it, but they just kept changing the bedding and looking for bugs, but nothing more. I asked to have the doctor look at the bites after the first couple of nights but I was told that I would have to pay the $200 consultation fee plus the doctors fee. Who knows how much that would be. Finally after dealing with getting bitten every night, NCL and our concierge finally on the last night allowed me to see the doctor without out any charge. The doctor took 1 look at the bites and said it was definitely bug bites. Once the doctor made his report, our concierge had nothing more to do with me. She wouldn't even acknowledge me as I walked next to her, leaving the ship. This concierge was only assigned to our private suites and not the whole ship. She tried to distance herself from me. I was in suite #14008. Don't book that room!
