From the moment we landed in Papeete we were greeted by representatives. They were very well organized and our transfer and check in to the Intercontinental Hotel was very smooth. We enjoyed the facilities there for 2 days before boarding the Paul Gaugin. The boarding process was seamless and we were in our cabins with our luggage in no time at all. From the moment we were on the ship the crew members were friendly and extremely accommodating. There were three of us and the cabin was large enough to store all our clothes without a problem. Our butler was easily accessible and always willing to get anything we needed. At our first dining experience we were acknowledged by our names even though they had never met us before. The food was very good and there always enough choices and variety.
The evening entertainment was for most part hokey and uninspired. However, on Polynesian night an outside group came on and performed and they were very enjoyable. We did find that we were in our cabin rather early on most nights because there was not much to do after dinner and drinks.
We loved the ports that we visited and each day did have an excursion planned. Swimming with the stingrays and sharks was loads of fun and excitement. The day at beach excursions were also very worthwhile.
Well thought out, plenty of storage space, and clean.
