The ncl getaway is a very sleek, modern ship with things like touch screen access throughout the ship. the food was very good, as was the service. The complimentary dining was very good, no need to upgrade & pay more. There were plenty of chairs in the shade for all you pool goers. Although the pool was very small & always crowded. There is no other adult alternative pool available. The music at the pool was always very loud with pounding rythm. Instead of the familiar caribbean sounds the music was mostly latin dance music. There was no quiet pool zone. The entertainment was great. Reservations for shows are a must. I suggest doing that when you first board. entry & exit at each port was easy & fast.

It seemed there were no comfortable chairs in any of the public venues. (they all were way oversized like they were designed for someone like shaq!). Most of the public areas were nicely designed. The getaway theater, which is the main showroom, was the most utilitarian of any ships i have been on. (this was my 42nd cruise). The room was just plain ugly with uncomfortable chairs. There were no balconies, railings, or interesting designs of any kind. The stage was small & unimpressive. Most game shows & music specialties were held in the atrium. This is an open walk through area in the center of the ship. Again, the seating was uncomfortable & sparse. This ship lacked a secondary showroom for these types of shows & games.

The cabins were very nice, though lacked any drawers & shelves. The bathrooms were the nicest of any ship i have been on. Hallways to the cabins were also the widest i have ever seen on any ship.
