Review and comments - Voyage / Dest: 1524 / 15 Days Europe - Trans-Atlantic Embarkation: September 6, 2015 / London (Southampton) Disembarkation: September 21, 2015 / Fort Lauderdale on the Royal Princess Cruise Ship

We took this ship and date for the itinerary and to enjoy the comforts of a newer ship. However we were so disappointed that we will not ever take another Princess cruise, in fact we have one booked for February 2016 on the Regal that we will cancel. So here is our review:

The Royal Princess is the most poorly designed ship that we have ever sailed on! With no mid ship staircase, movement around the ship is very difficult since the elevators are in constant use with the only staircases at the aft and forward areas of the ship making it very difficult to get around the ship in peak times. The theatre is so tightly designed that on the side seating areas there is only one entrance to the seats with no far end exits. Also at both side back ends of the theatre there is so little slope that you cannot see the stage!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony

Cabin D4

We had a deluxe balcony and it was the smallest balcony cabin that we have ever had. However they boost – “deluxe amenities you'd expect from a first class hotel” - really?!. There is not sufficient storage space and we had to keep most of our clothes in our suitcases under the bed. The sitting area is so small that you can’t sit at the desk and have someone sit on the sofa. Speaking of the sofa it was the smallest one that I have ever had and barely seats 2 people. You can’t even use the TV remote while seating on the sofa so you are forced to watch TV on the bed. Speaking of which with such a new ship the mattress needs replacement. Getting to the balcony – I don’t know how they call this a deluxe larger balcony! It was soooo small.
