We took the 2 day pre-cruise option in Barcelona which really helped us adjust to the time zone. The Hotel Wilson was nice enough, had a little balcony and a small room and, on the fifth floor, we were not bothered by any street noise. Did a hop-on/off bus tour, a great way to get an overview of Barcelona in a small time frame. The Hotel Wilson is in a nice area though a woman staying at the hotel had her purse stolen somewhere in Barcelona so pay attention. It’s easy to walk to nice cafes, tapas restaurants, etc. from here. Not in the heart of downtown but we enjoyed the neighborhood and what it offered. Picked up two bottles of wine to have on the ship which I recommend.

The “miss” here was the transfer process to the ship. There was a mass of passengers who had just disembarked trying to check in as we were checking out. We were hurried out of the room and asked to have luggage ready for them to pick up. We were to meet in the lobby and unfortunately it was pouring out (obviously no one’s fault) but a staff that was quite young and perhaps inexperienced handled the whole process poorly. We were put in the tiny lobby with all our luggage and then asked to take our own bags to the bus which was down at the street corner. When the bus left, the driver had neglected to close the luggage compartment. Luckily some passengers saw this and yelled at him before any luggage fell out. Then the bus driver drove us around and around, going to the wrong pier though we could clearly see the way to our ship. Next time we will make our own transfer arrangements.

The Wind Surf staff welcomed us with open arms. The ship itself is in great condition, always revarnishing railings and polishing things while in port, the crew is always working it seems. The embarkation process was smooth. There is no question that this is top notch service, a definite "hit".

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin BX

Spacious cabin, more room that the large ships. Loved our steward, Yunnie. Fresh fruit, large bottles of water, refrig, safe, hair dryer, slippers and robe. Occitane products. High end linens. Shower was large enough with great water pressure. Two portholes. We chose the Port side of the ship so we would have a view when we entered ports. Was really comfortable and we didn't feel much movement in this midship cabin.
