My partner and I traveled to Bermuda on Liberty of the Seas this past week. It was our 8th cruise, and 4th with Royal Caribbean.
We boarded Liberty of the Seas at Bayonne Cape Liberty around 11am with ease. As Gold members, we were on the ship in just 20 minutes! The excellent staff at the Cape Liberty cruise port were kind and efficient.
The ship is very large, and, although her decor is showing some age, she is kept absolutely spotless by her incredible hotel staff. The ship was impeccably clean and sparkling throughout the journey, and cleaning staff were visible all day, in every corner of the ship. Liberty is easy to navigate with her signature Royal Promenade cutting through the middle of deck 5, and leading to dining rooms in the stern, the theatre in the bow, and multiple venues in between.
The cabin was always spotless, and the bed was comfortable. However, the furnishings are looking dated.
The space was ample for two people, and even the shower was larger than we've experienced on other cruises. This ship also featured shower doors, which are so much better (and more efficient!) than the disgusting shower curtains on other ships.
Balcony was small, but not cramped.
Great staff and efficient service!
Beware the predatory airport shuttle staff when disembarking -- they lie about cab fares in order to convince people to take their shuttles. In fact, they claimed we had to hail a cab through them so they could trick us into using their service! The cab was $30 to Newark airport, and the shuttle fee was $20/person. So, for two people, we saved by taking a cab.
Great port on the Western tip of Bermuda with easy access to Hamilton and/or St. George's.
