Had a wonderful cruise to Alaska on the Norwegian Sun. Two days of rain, the rest sunshine and blue skies all the way. The highlight was our trip to Glacier Bay. Everyone should go. The Sun is a lovely ship, just the right size, not too crowded. Took 3 excursions: Whale Watching, Sled dogs with Gold Panning, and Crab Feast. Each was very enjoyable and worth the cost. Lots of entertainment on the ship. We enjoyed Trivia games, Jeopardy, questions with the Captain and Hotel Manager, music with Amber from Hungary and Tuxedo Junction from Italy. Went to Karaoke and joined in the sing-a-long on the last night. The breakfast buffet was good as well as the barbecue on the pool deck. We had dinner in both main dining rooms. I found the dining room meals lacked variety and were not as good as I have experienced previously on Norwegian although the salads were very tasty. We selected the Ultimate Beverage Package as our free inclusion and it was a good choice. Some yummy cocktails and some very nice wines were included.

I really appreciated the fact that we were given priority boarding as a result of my Latitudes Silver status. Saved us from standing in a very long line.

My only complaint was the cigarette smoke wafting from the casino. The smell was nauseating and irritated my asthma even though we stayed away from that area. I'm surprised that Norwegian continues to allow smoking on their ships. Cigarette smoke is a known carcinogen and they are putting their crew and guests at risk.
