We enjoyed our Baltic cruise but were not impressed with the Magellan.

Everything was just below par except for the staff who were very helpful. The food was very ordinary. Some guests ordered veal and got ham. When this was pointed out by numerous people the head chef denied it although the replacement meals were veal. It was almost impossible to find somewhere to sit in the self service bistro at busy times. The same food was served every day for tea (scones and "dry cake") so if you got a seat you knew what would be on offer.

The public rooms were also very crowded so we spent time searching for a place to have a drink before dinner. THE SPACE IN THE PUBLIC ROOMS WAS NOT SUFFICIENT FOR THE NUMBER OF GUESTS. The theatre, although looking good, was very poorly designed there were very few seats that gave a good view due to metal bars placed at eye level and large boxes placed at front stage. The entertainers were very inexperienced and the programme of shows boring. They needed a good director who could lift the events, we had much better shows on the Marco Polo. I didn't sit through all of any of the shows. Again due to the inexperience of the entertainers the at sea entertainment was dull and very poor. Neither of the speaker held my interest as one read everything and the other coughed all the way through his talk.

Cabin Review

Cabin 12

Cabin was small and quite cramped. We have cruised on the Marco Polo (same cruise line) wher we had a cabin of the same catergory. There was no comparison to the very basic cabin we had pn the Magellan.
