Last look at Passau from on high.

My wife and I took this Danube Waltz cruise as a thirtieth anniversary trip. We are first-time river cruisers. The Viking Prestige was a great ship, with more amenities than we expected.

I'll start off with the only real issue we have with Viking and this trip: communication. It's not as good as it could be. Here's the prime example:

The trip from the airport to the ship was uneventful up until the time came to be dropped off at the ship. We were told by Viking that the ship would be between the Chain and Elisabeth bridges, in Budapest, but more likely to be at the Chain Bridge. It was nowhere to be found. We were warned by previous travelers to NOT let the taxi just drop us off and leave for this exact reason. I went on board another Viking ship which happened to be docked at the Chain Bridge and asked if they knew where the Prestige was. They had no clue. We had to have our cab driver take us along the river until we spotted the Prestige docked at the Liberty Bridge, about a mile south of where we expected it to be. It would have been an unfortunate walk with all of our luggage.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with French Balcony

Cabin B

Spacious cabin. Bathroom had a leaky faucet that made a large puddle on the floor every day. It was never repaired, despite several requests.

Port Reviews

Bratislava

One of the best tour guides on the trip, if not the best. Excellent, knew the city inside out, humorous.
